for the win
Oh, if you all only could have joined me on the emotional rollercoaster I've been on for the past two weeks. You'd feel like smacking me in the face, I guarantee it.
Things That Are Now Fantastic:
Work - I now work at the Computer Center, adding yet another place to the list of areas on campus that I've worked. I really like my job so far. I get to talk to students all day long, which is a damn welcome change from being shoved into a back room of the library and having to cram books into envelopes for four hours a day. I've already been teased for cleaning too much, but damnit, the countertops ARE GLASS. I keep muttering, "Fingerprints, fingerprints!" to myself. I'm kinda crazy.
GRAS - The club is up and doing well, and I've already got a date set for ChibiChibi this year. I'm simplifying a lot of things to do with the convention and adding quite a few more low-stress activities, so it should be much smoother this year. And having three other coordinators besides myself is really going to help. Andandand, Halloween event this year! That's going to be so much fun!
School - I've been so lucky in this category that I'm going to have to build a shrine to Benten or something in my house as thanks. I knew it was going to be a struggle to get into the class that I wanted to get into, but I never imagined it would be this hard. Earlier this week, I was a very stressed out bunny because of this. However, after spending three days in a row trying to see one of the deans, everything was finally taken care of yesterday, I'm registered, paid up, and everything is okay. Our class is fucking huge. And argumentative. Good times.
I have to say that I now look forward to Tuesday and Thursday mornings more than ever. I realized after talking to Tomoko, my Japanese language teacher, that if I had just bothered to learn hiragana this summer, I could have tested into the next level of Japanese class. But I'm not too upset, since my mornings now are the most relaxing times EVER. I'm being treated like a kindergartner, and I love it. I mean, when the rest of my days are filled with paperwork and research papers and seminars and history books and god knows what else, it's so nice to just count to ten for an hour and a half.
I am so going to be working my ass off this year. I took on so much. So hell if I know why I'm so happy. But I am. I'm sad that Shen isn't in class with me, but she's much happier drawing comics all quarter than doing what I'm doing.
I just feel so productive and less lame. I miss my hobbies already, but I do have Fridays off completely, so there's at least one day left for knitting.
