Jul. 23rd, 2009 04:18 pmGood news - my money is at SPSCC, waiting for me. I get half of it now, and half in a week or so.
Bad news - I can't pick it up until Monday, cause I have to get a sheet of paper signed saying I'm still attending classes. Urgh. I was going to go to class yesterday, but I couldn't get Meridan to get out of bed and take me, and even though he would have eventually agreed, I would have been late and it wouldn't have mattered. But if I had gone, I could have gotten the money.
And so, poverty continues through Monday.
It's really not that bad at all, though. I'm just a little whiny about it. Meridan's going to get his last check from the brewery tomorrow, which will get us through the weekend just fine.
I'm still working on the budget. It's hard to get a realistic grasp on the amount of money we spend when there are so many different factors going on, but I think I can sort it out.
Now with Meridan working 40 hours a week, though, I need to come up with ways to keep myself busy besides school. I'm doing pretty well right now in my classes, other than being too lazy to ever get to my Japanese class, but I'm going to change all that next week.
Otherwise, I'm looking at cleaning up and scaling down. I have a bedroom absolutely full of shit, dirty clothes all over the floor, and I need to take care of them. In fact, my mother has been calling me all week, asking if I want her to come over and pick up my dirty clothes to wash them, and I've been too lazy to even bag them up. Ugh, I suck.
(Note: My mother offers, nay, DEMANDS, that I give her our clothes to wash. When she found out how much I'd been spending to wash them, she was shocked, and she considers it her part in helping us to keep costs down. And I love her for it. She also really likes doing laundry. Don't ask me. I'd do it myself at her house, but I'd have to be over there all day long, and I never have the time.)
I'm watching Oprah. She's doing a show on simplifying your life and saving money. I'm taking it as a sign. And taking notes. :)
