getting shit done
Feb. 16th, 2010 04:17 pmI just wrote out all my assignments and tests for the rest of February in my planner, and now I'm wishing I hadn't. Bah humbug.
It's not the homework itself, like I've said before - it's the whole working all week and moving apartments thing. It's just overwhelming. I basically have to have nearly everything packed up by a week from Thursday. However, the day before that, I have a huge research paper AND an English essay due. I only have two more days off before the move, too - next Saturday and Sunday.
I found out today, though, that I will have a job over the summer. Yay! And when I told my boss I was going to be a student until next spring, he was quite pleased. It's nice to be wanted. The Computer Center always made me feel like I was completely replaceable and in no way important enough to get excited about, even though I worked my ass off.
Staying here on campus was a really smart idea today. I wouldn't have gotten a damn thing done yet if I had gone home. The food is nasty, but I have delicious chili waiting at home for me, so that's good enough. I'm going to stay tomorrow and Thursday as well, unless something else comes up. I have an essay due tomorrow, and I need to catch up on some math homework anyways.
Very happy with my classes for next quarter, BTW. I've got a geology class, a public speaking class and my Intro to Education course, which I really needed to take.
Oh, I have to share - Meridan and I scored a coffee table, two end tables, one floor lamp and two table lamps at Target all for under $50 total. The table set was originally $40, and we were waiting and debating whether to get it or wait to go to Ikea. Finally, we made the decision to just buy it, went to Target, and discovered it was clearanced for $30. Score! Then, we were also debating about needing lighting very badly, but we found in the same section the set of 3 lamps reduced to $20. I'm so happy about this. We're quite broke for the next 10 days, but we have groceries, there's enough for gas, and I'm content.
Enough procrastination! Must tackle some kind of homework now.
