Because my afternoon/evening nap has rendered me incapable of going to sleep, I decided to go play on Ficlets.  I had the site recommended to me from three different places in the past month (one of those being Wil Wheaton's blog, so you know I had to pay attention), and I just kept forgetting to go check it out.

I am completely in love.  I wasn't even planning on writing anything, just milling around and reading stuff, but it's so addictive.  It's like absolute hell being limited to such few characters (1024), but it really works out well, cause it forces you to self-edit like mad.  That is, um, difficult for me.  So it's a good exercise.

Plus, when you're reading through other people's stuff, even if it's turning out to be as bad as the worst fanfiction you've ever read, you're instantly done and you can move on.  It's lovely.
