can't sleeeep
Dec. 22nd, 2009 05:31 amUuurgh. Wicked case of insomnia. It's one of those awful ones where you're so tired, but you just toss and turn. Meridan was barely snoring earlier, just a little rumble compared to his previous honking, but even that tiny noise drove me crazy.
I've figured out that the key to a decent night's sleep for me is to go to bed early with Meridan and play a little on my Nintendo DS until I get tired enough to sleep. It usually doesn't take long, and I usually fall asleep first, with Meridan following very soon after. I really think the key is my falling asleep first. I just feel better when I do.
Tonight, Meridan was extra sleepy from having to get up early with me this morning to go pay my tuition, so he fell asleep first. I made the mistake of opening up an ebook on my iPod instead of picking up my DS, which meant that I had to read the whole damn thing in one go. Two hours later, I'm wide awake. Bah, humbug.
I can't believe I'm nearly halfway done with my afghan. It goes so fast when you have so many color changes to keep it interesting.
I'm going to my mother's tomorrow. Why, I don't know. Actually, I do know why - Ari asked me to come over. I can't say no to the scamp. I think when school starts, I'll probably go once or twice a week over there rather than come back to the apartment. The bus ride is the same distance either way, and he'd probably really like the company.
The book I was reading, incidentally, was The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls. If you haven't read it, do. It's apparently being made into a film as well.
So, I'm trying to do a little shifting around with my school schedule, actually. I was going to go strictly online, but with my new work schedule, it would work perfectly for me to take Japanese at 8 in the morning. I was already on the wait list and never bothered to take myself off, and now I'm glad I didn't. I'm up to #4 on the list now, and since tuition is now due, I'm thinking there might be a couple more drops in the next few weeks. Here's hoping!
Plus, I can't afford the textbook for my psychology class, and I already have the books for Japanese, obviously. So it would really save me some fuss.
To think, voluntarily taking an 8AM class. I guess I have changed somewhat.
Sigh. Suppose I'll put the laptop away now. Or something.
