Jul. 17th, 2008 02:01 amExtremely disappointing news, kids - there will be no Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire this year. Apparently, final permits were not awarded due to some issues over the new land they just purchased and the Department of Natural Resources. I feel terrible for the people who already bought tickets - from what I gleaned from the website, refunds will be made "as soon as possible", which means never.
Closest faire now is one in Oregon in September, which is about a 4 hour drive away. Not fantastic. Not terrible, but not fantastic.
Also, Shen is gone now, and my text message bill is going to be hideously high. Poor Dad.
However, here are some things that ARE fantastic -
- Dark Knight showing tomorrow @ midnight, which Aleph very sweetly got tickets for. BATMAN! BATMANBATMANBATMAN!
- WALL-E. WALL-E is the cutest damn thing Pixar has ever done, and it only gets sweeter upon the second viewing. It is THE perfect date movie.
- New season of Project Runway! First impressions - I am intrigued by many of the designers, which is a new thing for me. Like Tim said, it is a very diverse group, and that makes me happy. Also, previews for next week's episode show all kinds of freaking out, and I LIVE for that kind of shit.
- The fact that I am turning 26 in a month. I figure if I keep filing this event mentally in the Good category, I won't get all depressed when it comes around. Or not. We'll see how that goes.
- *cough* thathaircuttingshow *cough* Yes, I watched it. Yes, I like it. I'm so embarrassed. It's just - they actually had a challenge where they had to give their clients a haircut & style and then teach them how to replicate it themselves! None of the people I go to ever tell me how to replicate what they do to my hair. That's a really frigging important lesson. Also, Meredith, way to go out with some class, bitch. There's nothing more mature than an exit interview where you blame your ugly ass haircut on the idea that the judges "don't like curly hair". Say what? Dumbass.
And now, I will away to bed, because I am all of a sudden joining Aleph on his drive to the consulate tomorrow. I think it will be a fun drive.
