(no subject)

It confuses me how I can be this busy when I'm unemployed.  Being social is hard work.

I went with Shen last week to her gym.  I super-like the bikes and the treadmills, but she got me onto some horrible thigh-crunching machine thing at one point that I'm fully convinced was invented by a group of super sadistic gynecologists.  Never again.

I've been really reluctant to join her gym, only because it's all the way on the Westside and it's a struggle to get over there for me on the bus.  I might think about it in September, though, only because I really do like it, and there's only one gym near my house and it's expensive and crappy.  We'll see.  

My father's sister Simin called last week and practically demanded that I go visit her in Santa Monica for a while.  She offered to send me a ticket just so I can keep her company - apparently, she's bored.  Simin is the only female member of my father's family that I know very well, and it sucks a little having her so far away.  I think I'm going to call her back this weekend and tell her to send that ticket.  After all, it seems like everyone else I know is having vacations here and there, and I'd love to get the hell out of here for a while and get a nice tan.

I've been stricken with an odd desire this week to learn German.  So, I think I will.  Why not?

I have been abandoned by my boyfriend this weekend for some form of raging river expedition, I believe.  Here's hoping that he lucks out and my voice actually seems calm and quiet after listening to the crazy water rushing for that long.  I went last weekend with him and his parents camping, and we were right next to one of those particularly loud rivers.  It was CRAZY loud.  

Also, I am a humongous neurotic piece of work, and I am still amazed that Meridan willingly puts up with me.

Also also, I have learned that it is less than a turn-on to mention to your significant other during an intimate moment that in all likelihood, his parents are busy in their own tent engaging in a similar action.  However, repeated mentionings of this moment and the retelling of the story to anyone who will listen while your significant other is present will result in nothing but hilarity.  Well, hilarity for you.
