Jul. 17th, 2009 03:45 pmNews news news. Here are some things:
Meridan is off to work on Tuesday for ACS. We do what we have to. I'm not happy about it, but he's excited for the paycheck, and I don't blame him. We've been super poor this month, and I can't wait for us to have a regular paycheck coming in.
In the meantime, he and I are making things work as best we can. I've started bargain shopping hardcore, clipping coupons, and it's really impressive how much money I can save.
Today, he's off working at his dad's so that we can get some grocery money. This month will be terribly rough - Meridan's first paycheck doesn't come until the 31st. But hey, it's a few weeks of sitting around at home, scraping together change for food - after that, we're going to be fine. We still won't have any significant amount of money, but it'll be okay. The hardest part is that due to several factors, our rent and bills are going way up in September.
To make matters even worse, our futon frame broke entirely the other night. Not having any money to replace it, we're currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor. It's not terrible, but it's not fun.
Anywho. I'm working on a budget for us right now, trying to focus all this extra energy I have into something besides just school.
So, Kumoricon! Yay! We went to the meeting last Saturday, and all four of us got staff positions. :) I'm doing what I mentioned before, writing and editing the newsletter and program and whatnot, Shen & Matt are working in the fanfic room, and Meridan's going to be running some tabletop gaming. They still need even more staff, though, so if anyone else wants to work at the convention, let me know and I'll tell you who to talk to.
That's about it.
