I'm 24 years old. It's summer. I should be off fucking my brains out somewhere, not sitting in my mother's house, eating cookies, and watching the good parts of The Big Easy over and over again.
I'm all riled up, you see, because I started bellydancing again last week. Just on my own for now, but I'll probably find a class again after I get back in shape. I used to love it, and I still do, but constant hip movements for an hour a day have a certain effect on hard-up young women.
Just trying to keep busy. I have to keep from thinking with my vagina, because when I do, I actually contemplate fucking people that I wouldn't even be willing to have a conversation with in the daylight. I'm a bit too grownup for that kind of thing. So, I'm working out, I'm knitting, I'm renting movies, I'm doing whatever crap I can think of to keep sane. All I need is a cat.
Decided on a different set of knitting needles, by the way. I did a lot of reading of reviews, and I've got my heart set on these Knit Picks needles instead. I really prefer metal needles, and now that I've taught myself how to do the magic loop thing, I don't need so many different cord sizes. Those are the needles for me. My dad called a little bit ago to see what I was up to, and I did so much whining that I may very well get these earlier than I thought.
I never meant to get so hooked on knitting. I really didn't. I was just so frustrated that I couldn't make clothes that look good with crochet. I mean, there are a few things that look fabulous - there's a clubbing top I'm working on, actually, that is really hot. But in general, you just can't make pretty sweaters & whatnot with crochet.
Handbags, however, are a different story. Crocheted bags are always better, IMHO. Much sturdier and easier to shape. I'd better get to the fabric store tonight, actually. I've got things to finish this week.
