Jan. 7th, 2008 02:29 am I cannot believe, after what I went through last year, after all the oaths I swore that I would never do this again, I'm running another ChibiChibiCon.
I. Am. STUPID.
The theme for this year is Simplify. Spend less money. I actually paid attention to what worked last year and what didn't, and nine times out of ten, the stuff that was the most popular was junk that cost me nothing to put on. We're having a legit fanfic/fanart room this year, an extremely simplified dance, all the events that people liked, plus... I'm actually charging some of the dealers MONEY to come. So, I might, like, make some money for us. Seeing as how we have none in the budget. Need to make money.
For those of you that I haven't already told, I'm dropping my Japanese history & culture class and paring things down to just 8 credits, possibly 4. The only real homework-y type class I'm taking is Japanese language. I was bummed out about it at first, but honestly, I think it'll work out for the best. I blew Japanese last quarter because I never had time to work on it or study, so this quarter, I'm making up for all that. Hells yeah.
So, I'm hoping for a decent convention this year. We'll see what I actually get. Yipes. At least I've gotten better at delegating things to people who will actually do what they say. That's a plus.
