work is... shockingly... boring.
Feb. 9th, 2008 05:49 pmSo, I'm sitting here at work desperately trying to ignore yet another endless D&D conversation going on behind me. I'm flipping through Ravelry stuff, and I come along a photo of someone's finished gloves, taken outside during what must have been late summer/early fall. And all of a sudden, I'm just hit with an overwhelming wave of BRING ME WARM WEATHER.
Seriously. I am thoroughly fed up with winter. I can't take any more. I'm just hoping that since most of the popular newsworthy groundhogs predicted early spring, it will come true. And you know that if I'm putting all my hopes into the stupidest animal-related theory EVER, I must be desperate for spring.
I know, I know, it's nearly mid-February, it's coming. But not bloody soon enough.
I'm spending my day here at work looking through classified ads and applying for new jobs. I don't feel too guilty, since I'm not looking to quit here at the Computer Center, but this shit is not paying my bills in any respect. I'm even willing to just do another 4 credit quarter in spring just so I have time for both jobs. I'm sick to death of being poor and carless.
I've also been sitting here for about an hour reading through CNN reports on presidential candidates, deciding who the hell to vote for. I didn't want to start really pushing for Obama until I was sure that I wasn't just being swept away with the college-age crowd. I'm not thrilled that he doesn't support same-sex marriage, but at least he didn't vote for the nationwide ban, and his policies on the Middle East, particularly Iran, are a million times better than Clinton's. He's obviously not my ideal candidate, but if he's still around come election time, I'll vote for him.
I didn't vote in the primaries, however, because I refuse to declare a party. Hell no.
Oh, adulthood. You are boring.
