all quiet on the western front
Apr. 9th, 2010 03:08 pmNot entirely sure why my tweets aren't being fed to my LJ at the moment - hm.
Anyways. My dad told me a little bit ago that he was able to talk to Mom on the phone and have a relatively coherent conversation with her - she was really groggy, he said, but she could talk at least. Apparently, she still can't grab things or stand up or anything of that nature, though. They had to hold the phone for her.
I will admit, I'm far more concerned about her getting her cognitive functions back than anything else. If she ends up in a wheelchair or something similar, or if physical therapy is necessary, then so be it. But you wouldn't believe how much I just want to talk to her. She torments me with her craziness, and yet I want to have a conversation with her. It's surprising even to me.
Still. Nothing to be known yet. Her doctor is a douchebag who never calls me when he's supposed to.
Started on the Read, Remember, Recommend Challenge. I really like Lisa See's books, so when I noticed Shanghai Girls was on sale at Target yesterday, I jumped all over that motherfucker. I had nothing but time today to read, so I just finished it. Why must all Chinese historical fiction melt my face with sadness? Yeesh. It was great, though.
I decided not to do my book blogging here. Let's be honest, LJ sucks ASS for blogging nowadays - I only do this still because of all the people I know here who I need to keep updated on, and because I can be all personal and stuff. But I figured I'd fix up a different blog on Wordpress and use it. I'll post the link later when I fix the header and stuff.
Ari is over, and because he stayed up all damn night playing his PS3, he's asleep in my room right now. How precious. :P
