Overall, I have to give the weekend a thumbs up.  Kumoricon is usually enjoyable for various reasons, but staying for only 2 days was particularly nice this time.  I would usually prefer to enjoy an entire convention, but Kumoricon is particularly huge, and it's tough to handle for so long.

Having a table also makes my life a lot easier at a con.  I have something to do during the day when there's a lot of downtime, plus somewhere to put my crap.

Two new conventions to add to the list this year, though.  We're going to AkiCon in November, and MEWCon on New Year's Eve.  I'm particularly excited about MEWCon, not just because it's on New Year's, but because it's an attempt at an anime/scififantasy con.  I've been waiting a long time for someone to connect the two, and it sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm crossing my fingers that I can manage AkiCon after only working one month beforehand - it's a bit soon, and a bit expensive.  We'll see.  But MEWCon's definitely on the list.  Plus, I talked to the publicity director for SakuraCon and confirmed our table, so SakuraCon is a definite on the list.

I'm glad I went, even if it took every cent of my birthday money to pull it off.  I've only got one more month of poverty ahead of me, so it's not so bad.  I was even able to buy myself this bag and a little strap for my new phone.  I loves my new bag!

So, yes, AkiCon is only a maybe, because I've promised myself that I will own one of those tiny little eePCs by the end of fall quarter.  (Laptop that is only 9 inches and fits in my purse?  YES.)  But otherwise, I'm looking forward to the new cons.  Whee.
